Privacy Policy — SplitCheck

This policy explains what data SplitCheck ("the app") collects, why, and how you can delete it. SplitCheck is developed by Nikita Zhorov.

Data we collect

• Email address — used to create and sign in to your account (via email/password or Google sign-in).
• Receipt photos — sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to read item names, prices, tax, and service charge. Photos are not stored permanently on our servers beyond what's needed to process your request; if you choose to save a split, the resulting itemized data (not the raw photo) is stored in your history.
• Voice recordings — when you use voice input to describe an order, audio is sent to a speech-to-text service to convert it to text, and is not retained after transcription.
• Bill/split history — the items, amounts, and per-person shares from bills you choose to save are stored in your account so you can view them later.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect precise location, contacts, or payment/card details. SplitCheck calculates who owes what — it does not process or store payments.

How data is used

Your data is used only to provide the app's functionality: parsing receipts, splitting bills, and showing your history. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Third-party services

• Supabase — authentication and database storage for your account and history.
• OpenAI — receipt/order parsing.

Data sent to these providers is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

Data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time:

• In the app: menu (⋮) → Account → Delete account
• Without the app: email support.splitcheck@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my SplitCheck account" from the email address associated with your account.

What gets deleted: your account (email/login), your saved bill/split history, and your monthly AI-usage counters — all of it, permanently.

What is not immediately deleted: nothing is retained beyond what's needed to process the deletion request itself, which is logged briefly to trigger the deletion.

Timeframe: your split history is removed instantly when you confirm deletion in the app. The account itself (login) is removed automatically within 24 hours; requests sent by email are processed within 30 days.
